Could some one please tell me how money exchanges hands on a carribbean cruise. I am sailing on the sea princess in december and have got myself US dollars to spend on the islands. If I hand over US will I get my change in whatever currency the island uses? How will I be able to spend this when I leave that island? or will I get my change in US? Is this a problem? Would be grateful for advice. many thanks.

It depends on the island but most will give local currency as change
Get small bills $1, $5, $10 so you will have less change coming from purchases

If you find yourself with local currency I usually give it to the crew fund on the last day or to the room steward
