Could anyone tell me and my girlfriend where the ship docks at St Maarten and if this is close to Maho beach to see the planes?
Also does anyone have any tips for excursions or what is good or not and am i right in thinking at one of the resorts maybe Antigua you can pay to go to sandals and use their facilities for the day?

Although Maho isn't all that far from Phillipsburg, there hasn't been a time when we haven't gotten stuck in a traffic jam of some sort or another in late afternoon. The traffic always backs up as you enter Phillipsburg at a traffic light. (This had been going on for years). Always plan on shopping at the terminal shops at the end of the day.
As for Antigua, I would recommend an island tour which will take you around the harbors and up to Shirley Heights. It is amazing. When I was there last, we hired an english speaking taxi driver and had a great time.
In the Caribbean there's always a chance of the last hurricane of the season but the ships will just adjust their itinerary to bypass the weather. It's one of the best times to cruise; the temps are not as hot, the summer crowds of kids are gone and you usually get better value for your money.
You might have some time to check out a bit of the surrounding area. You'll probably be off the ship by 10 am and will need to get to the airport around 1 pm. You could get a cab and do a little sight seeing. Princess may also offer a post cruise excursion. Of course, you might want to change your flight and spend a few nights in Jamaica
