Hi All,

Could somebody tell me how long it takes to get from fort lauderdale airport to the ship (Sea Princess)?

What you read is correct: upgrades do happen; but they are not very common and seem to be completely random. So it's great when it happens but it's nothing you should really look forward to.

On the Cruise-Chat main page, the second heading is Port Chat and Caribbean Port Chat is the first thread.

Oh, and it's about 15 minutes from the airport to the pier in Ft. Lauderdale.

Although Maho isn't all that far from Phillipsburg, there hasn't been a time when we haven't gotten stuck in a traffic jam of some sort or another in late afternoon. The traffic always backs up as you enter Phillipsburg at a traffic light. (This had been going on for years). Always plan on shopping at the terminal shops at the end of the day.

J and S,

As for Antigua, I would recommend an island tour which will take you around the harbors and up to Shirley Heights. It is amazing. When I was there last, we hired an english speaking taxi driver and had a great time.

Hi,

I have read in a few places now that the Sea Princess is looking old and tatty and that in Sept 2009 it is having a major refit.

Does anyone no if this is true or where i could find such infomation out?

Also me and my girlfriend are going on a southern carribean cruise on 10th October, will we be the first passengers on since the refit?

Thanks

In the Caribbean there's always a chance of the last hurricane of the season but the ships will just adjust their itinerary to bypass the weather. It's one of the best times to cruise; the temps are not as hot, the summer crowds of kids are gone and you usually get better value for your money.

Hi,

Our last port is Montego Bay but we are flying at 15.15, will we have any time to do anything?

Me and my girlfriend wanted to do the Sandals excursion but i suppose there is no chance of this flying home at 15.15, i would imagine we have to be in airport for 12 ish?

You might have some time to check out a bit of the surrounding area. You'll probably be off the ship by 10 am and will need to get to the airport around 1 pm. You could get a cab and do a little sight seeing. Princess may also offer a post cruise excursion. Of course, you might want to change your flight and spend a few nights in Jamaica
