This is really a good value for all former Princess cruisers, but especially a bonus for those of us who live on the left coast and do not have to fly to enbarkation.

Princess has just lowered the prices on January sailings on Golden, 14 days RT from LA. We did this trip on Regal in summer once when it was 15 days and included Kona, and we loved it. We are seriously thinking of the Jan. 31, especially, as that would have the Super Bowl during the time we are onboard, something DH would really enjoy.

Just want to alert anyone thinking of this cruise to check out the very low price for former Princess cruisers.

Thanks for the tip, Ellie; some friends and I are already booked on the October 13 ('10) sailing on Golden Princess and are keeping our fingers crossed they cut the price on that between now and then. Even if they don't, it is still a good value; but a little OBC would surely be nice.

We did the 15 day r/t in '07 on Island Princess and really loved it--that's why we are going back; not to mention the incredible convenience of living so close to the port.

We made the decision, and just booked Jan. 31.

Congratulations, Ellie!! Have you seen the photo journal of Golden Princess during and after her recent drydock? If not, here it is:

Congratulations! I wish I were on the west coast. It would be quite the road trip from Alabama

Rick, I'm seeing CC of $75 for the Oct 13 sailing and slightly cheaper prices for Oct 27 & 24 with also $75 CC. It's not as much as other months but it's still something.

RichC, is that cruise credit from an agency? I booked through Princess and the cruise fare is still the same as when I booked back in May. I haven't seen any deals that far out yet--remember, I'm talking about 2010, not this year.

Yea Rick, It was a regular brick & mortar TA here in Fl. They advertise with their web site also. I'll get back to you & post a photo of the prices.
I don't think we can mention a web site? can we?
I downloaded the prices but right now I can't get to the Webshots site. There are some bad thunder storms in the area right now so I'll give it a shot later on this evening.

Thank you, Rich; I appreciate the effort. Unless Princess' fare is less, I imagine they would rather extend me the OBC rather than have me cancel and rebook with someone else.

I have noticed though that several local agencies often advertise generous OBC allowances, but then the fare will be an equal amount above Princess' fare. "My mamma told me, you have to shop around!"

I don't know if you'll be able to see there prince or not. If you give me a specific cat I'll look it up. The only bad thing about this TA is that they charge you $100 if you have to cancel. I've shopped around on the web & have found TA's who don't charge, but their prices are higher. I forgot to mention, their are gov taxes to be added to the web rate.
