We do it all the time....It's exciting when the deal comes thru and you have 1 to 2 days to pack....and you are off and sailing....If I lived in Florida, I would be sailing all the time....

Happy Cruising...

We cruised to San Juan last year from New England (not out of Boston or Manchester) and it was more that double that price ! But, we are limited to the spring break times and that hurts all over.

Ouch, peter l, spring break is almost as bad as Christmas. They double their prices then.

jlmkey, past Princess passengers have the option to sign up for e-mail notification of any last minute deals. I posted this because there has been some discussion here about it: nobody ever actually gets any offers. This is the first really last-minute deal I've seen in several years.

But most of the cruise lines have really good deals from time to time. I would find a travel agency that specializes in cruises and tell them what you have in mind and they can be on the look out for you.

I still get e-mail from Princess with last minute deals - often 10 days to 2 weeks before the sail date. I did indicate on their site that I would like them. We did book one trip 10 days before it sailed and tried to book another one 2 weeks before but ended up on the waiting list. We actually made it to 2nd place before the ship sailed without us.
