Looking at the weather and it does not look good in the caribbean at the minute. Is it likely to be raining in October?
When i go on the weather radar its always raining presumably due to being in hurricane season.
Also what is the time difference in Fort Lauderdale and UK and does the time change going to different islands or will we set our watch in fort lauderdale and leave it that way till we come home?
It will probably rain, but in the Caribbean, it normally will rain, clear up and be beautiful, then rain again. It's rare that it rains all day, although it can happen. The time difference is 5 hours. The time you will follow will be "Ship's Time". They will announce it in your Princess Patter, on the TV, and on board. Some ships will change times, others won't. Be sure to read your Patter. They also leave cards in your cabin. When you are in port, be sure to have your watches set to "Ship's Time" so you don't miss your ship.
I wonder if dave, penny or any of the other experienced cruisers can confirm what the chance of bad weather is, from what i can see i think if any rain it will be around 2pm?
Any good websites showing current weather, i notice there was a earthquake (4.5) not far from st maarten recently?
Bon Voyage J and S, hope y'all have a marvelous time. Don't worry about the rain, like I said, most of the time, it will rain, then clear up and be fine, then rain again. If it does rain, you're in the tropics, it's not cold and miserable
i notice there was a earthquake (4.5) not far from st maarten recently?
There was one today, actually, as well as one a couple weeks ago. Sometimes these things can come in the form of earthquake swarms and there can be several quakes over a period of days, weeks, or months. No way to tell when the next one will hit, or if it will.
Those earth quakes just come out of nowhere. When I was stationed in the Azores we had one. We could feel the shaking on base. Fortunately, the base was ok. But the small villages outside the base had quite a bit of damage.
I'm glad the hurricane season is officially over on November 1st. I'm going on a cruise Halloween weekend, so not likely one will hit in the next couple weeks. But you never know.
I hope you will have a safe cruise Cruise Fanatic. It's not going to be to the Eastern Caribbean is it? Sure would hate a quake to hit and set off one of those tsunami waves while you're there. And definitely wishing for NO hurricanes anywhere!
