I am new here (just joined today!). Just wanted to say that we are cruising on the Grand out of Galveston on Feb. 19. I hope that you have a great time and I hope that you will post about your experience when you get back! I am still trying to figure everything out for our cruise and am so glad that I found this forum.

We have been, ever since I booked the cruise last summer, and now (I can't believe it!) it is only 4 days till we cruise. What anniversary are you celebrating and is this your first cruise?

Yes, I am getting very excited but not as excited as YOU I bet! We are celebrating our 10th anniversary. We have a two year old who is going to stay with grandparents so I can't believe what it will be like to be irresponsible for a whole week. We will probably be sick in bed with the 'cocktail flu' half the trip. This is my husband's first cruise. I did cruise one other time about a zillion years ago for my high school senior trip. It was on a Carnival ship and OMG did we have a blast.

So have you booked your excursions? Did you do it thru Princess? What did you choose?

I booked our cruise last summer through a TA out of Galveston. Our children had given us a cruise last May for our 50th wedding anniversary. We were on Carnival Victory and it was a first for both of us. We had a blast!!! So much so, that we couldn't wait to book another cruise. The TA suggested Princess,since apparently Princess is relatively new to Galveston. We did book an excursion in Grand Cayman and also in Cozumel. We just booked online through Princess. In Grand Cayman, we booked George Town's Trolley Roger Tour and in Cozumel we booked the Flavors of Cozumel Tour. Since you are young, I am sure you and your husband will probably want more to try some of the more adventurous excursions

Hi Betsey,
We are going on the Grand out of Galveston on the 18th of Feb 2006. We are a man, woman and 2 teens. We have booked an excursion for three ports. BUT we booked them ourselves on the internet. Can get the same excursions for much less money that way. Just make sure you get back to the ship in time!
We have booked 2 snorkeling trips and a zip-line canopy across a rain forest. If you want more information just let me know and I'll email it to you. We've done this many times before and have always had great excursions and they are very cruise conscious, know exactly when and where they're leaving and make sure to get you back on time.

My wife and I are going on the Grand Princess on 1/28/06. This will be our 10th cruise. Our first on Princess.

We are so excited.

Hi to both Leta and BetsyE, you will have fun on this ship, The entertainment was great and especially the MUTS (movie under the Stars) However may I make one suggestion, Do not pay for the Princess bus transfers it will only make your blood boil, pay extra for a private taxi/limo service. We will be on the same itinerary but our ticket says leaving Galveston February 18. Check yours, don't miss the boat. We are very much looking forward to it too.
