I just got back from 14 day Hawaii and have a question.

I am going on the Hawaii cruise in January and plan to rent a car in every port.any recommendations about which car companies to avoid or which are most convenient?

The one thing I would say is get the car reserved ahead of time to save time. They have all the major rental companys. The bigger the car the more it cost. Jeep is more than a Escort.
Ours was a Ford ranger pickup, because we did not need much passenger space and it cost $59.
no milage charge. That was cheap enough. Remember you are not going to another country. You are going to another state and all the same rules and laws apply. It is not like they can do whatever the please.
Also some ports will deliver the car or pick you up and others you have to go to the airport or to their rental center to get the car. That takes time so plan ahead.

So funny, I just looked at this cruise to take next April... Did you enjoy it? Was it enough time in Hawaii? I have never been...

Yes we did, however there was really not enough time on each island to see much. If you like sea days, and we do, then this is the trip for you. Nine days at sea!
I will fly there next time so I can look around and explore without the fear of being left by the ship. We talked about it last night and we could not find one bad thing that happened during our cruise to spoil it. I think that says alot.

What kind of room did you have? We were thinking of doing a mini suite... did you see the suites that were on the lido deck? Ive never been on a princess ship, so im not sure where the good rooms are and if the suites are worth it.

We were in a balcony room on the Caribe deck one room away from the mini suites. We saw inside one and they looked very nice. The ship was great, clean, easy to get around on and the crew was great and helpful.
