We will be in Grand Caymen on the Crown in Feb and will be booking an outside company for a Sting Ray snorkel.. Does anyone know what time the ship will be on? Same as Grand Caymen, + or 1 1 Hour?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone out there know how I can get this info, or do I have to contact Princess Cruise Lines?

Thanks

Peterl

Sorry no one replied yet. The ships usually stay on the time from their departure port.

Look here for the local time on Grand Cayman.

Boy, this comes up a lot; it seems there is no hard and fast rule--it can vary between cruise lines and even between ships or Captains within the same cruise line. I've saved Princess Patters from all my cruises and all I can tell you is, sometimes they stay on the time of the port of departure and sometimes they adjust to local time. You could try calling Princess but I doubt if that's something the land-based offices could answer. Not much help, I know--sorry!

As f-mattox stated, it's up to the Captain. You're going there when the east coast of the US is on Standard Time (as opposed to Daylight Time). Not sure if this makes a difference. I do know, this time of the year, when the east coast is on Daylight time, Grand Cayman is one hour behind us. I'm not sure if it's because they don't observe Daylight Saving Time or whether it's because they're on what the United States refers to as Central Time.

On my last cruise with Royal Caribbean, the captain changed the time to match local island time, but on my cruise coming up, the captain probably will not change the time from what I've been researching.

Peter, I apologize if my original reply wasn't worded very well. I forgot I was in the Princess section for a moment and didn't note it was in February you were asking about. http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/5.gif

Ft. Lauderdale and Grand Cayman are both on the same (EST) time in February. So it "should" be no worries about the time. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

Again, thanks for the assistance.
