Has anyone sailed on the Sun Princess and seen the aft-mini suites on the baja deck? I would like to see photos if anyone has any. Also any comments would be apprectiated as my husband and I are sailing on a 10 day Mexican Riviera cruise aboard the Sun in November. Thanks

Although we didn't stay in the aft mini-suite we made friends with a couple who did on one of our Panama Canal trips. It was a great mini suite, bigger that the ones along the sides. The one problem the gentleman had with it was that part of the ship structure intersected the balcony and he had to be careful not to bump his head. One other observation is that although you get a great view of where you have been, you can not really see where you are going or where you currently are. But, for the little extra price, you sure get lots of extra space and a “Suite Name Plaque” on the door.

I have booked an aft mini-suite (AB guarantee) on the Sea Princess (sister ship to Sun) for March sailing. Let me know what you think of this cabin or if you get any other info or photos.

If I can shed any light on the subject, let me know. I did a lot of homework before I chose my cabin class.

We sailed the Sun Princess to Alaska in August, 2001. We didn't have a mini-suite, but a balcony on the Port side. I have to agree with the previous posts, that you can't see where you're going in the Aft, so we prefer regular balconies on either POrt or Starboard, depending on the itinerary. We have also sailed 2 sister ships, Ocean in Inaugural Season, and Dawn. Will be doing another Dawn cruise end of November. There's 1 thing I can vouch for with the Dawn, and that it really holds up very well to high seas. We hit a terrible storm in the Gulf of Alaska, as I was so happy to be on that ship instead a lot of the others I've been on. Have you tried the Princess website, www.princesscruises.com? You can go in and get most pictures first hand of the way the staterooms look. Website can be a little slow at times, but one of the best I've run accross. Also, you can book your shore excursions, and do all your paperwork long before you even leave. Getting the paperwork done in advance will get you through the check in process much faster.
Have a great time! I'm sure you will
