I don't have a problem with e docks but it's the printing of luggage tags that gets me. I'd never trust a folded piece of folded paper stapled to my suitcase handle to make it to my room without getting misplaced. They might save a few bucks on tags but the ships personal will be working overtime finding lost luggage.
Real smart decision to save money.
Maybe they'll make us print tags for getting off the ship also.

I just tried the system I've read about hear several times on my son's luggage for a 3-day on Carnival Elation, and it worked great. Just make the two length-wise folds they show you on the "tag", then cover it on both sides with clear packing tape, trim the excess and staple several times around the luggage handle or strap. I really think it is stronger and easier to put on than the old ones. With the old ones, if the two sides weren't perfectly lined up, too bad--you couldn't pull them apart and do it over.

After you followed the instructions, did it turn out to be about the same size as the old luggage tags? Also did they have to be printed in color? What about people who don't have a computer or printer? Can they get tags from their TA? They must be providing them at the terminals.

Remember Rich, this was for a Carnival ship; but I would imagine Princess would be about the same. It was larger than the old tags: picture a standard 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper folded in thirds length-wise; then after you apply the tape, just fold it in half and staple it to itself around the handle. This one was black and white. However the tags Dave posted for Oasis were in color--but I'm sure black and white would be acceptable. People without computers have always been able to have materials printed out by their TA. And they are available at the pier.
