I am trying to get my flight scheduled for my January Cruise on the Caribbean Princess. Can I make a 10:00 am flight? What time can you leave the ship on the final day?

A 10:00 AM flight is very very tight even if the ship reaches port on time and you are in the very first group off. What if it is late? Much better to book a flight that is after noon.

I agree with SD Cruiser. You'll also be on a ship with 3,000 passengers, many of whom want to get off first. Even if you are going to the Fort Lauderdale airport, which is very close to the pier, that is too much of a risk, IMO.

Hi Erin,

I have done an early departure with a flight at 10:30am and had no problem. We did a "walk-off" were we carried out luggage and got a waiting taxi. We were at the Fort Lauderdale port so the airport was only minutes away.
I would recommend arriving a day early. Winter weather can be tricky so we like to allow an extra day as a cushion. Enjoy your cruise.

Just my two cents. We have been as late as 11:00am being cleared by Customs and Immigration in Port Everglades. There were 8 ships in port that day. We were docked and ready for boarding at 6:00am. If everything goes smoothly and the ship is cleared to begin disembarkation by 8:00am, you'd be find. But, why stress yourself out after having a great cruise. IMHO, I wouldn't book until after noon. Best wishes.

Not to mention check-in and security lines at the airport.

I was disembarking in Ft. Lauderdale the end of September. We did not do self assist and ended getting off the ship at 10:45. By the time we got our luggage, got thur customs, got transportation to the airport and checked in at the airport, we had 45 minutes until our flight...which was at 1:59. Now, it is fair to say that we did not rush, but 10:00 really is pushing it. JMHO
