I've noticed that the Princess Bridge Cams seem to be down for the last couple days. Does anyone know what's going on? It seems to be almost all of the Bridge Cams, especially the Alaska ones. When I logged in to look at them this morning they all still show yesterday's date.
I didn't realize that they would all be tied-in together. I assumed each ship had their own independent satellite reception. I look forward to them coming back up, I'm enjoying tracking the Alsaka cruises since we recently got back from our Alaska cruise and I haven't gotten out of the cruise mode yet!
I don't know anyhthing about the technology involved--didn't mean to sound like I do--I believe each ship has its own satellite apparatus, but at some point they have to all come together to all be on the website; and that must be the point where the breakdown occurred.
Hopefully someone who actually knows what they are talking about can help us out.
Anyway, I know what you are talking about--I follow the bridge cams all the time--longingly.
Your explanation sounded good to me, I'm sure I'm less technologically inclined than you. I'm glad I'm not the only one that tracks the Bridge Cams. And, by the way, Princess has the best, a lot more than the other cruise lines; it makes me feel like I'm still on vacation.
I love the webcams, too. But I like looking at the warm waters and places I may never see, like when the ships are over in Europe. Alaska is pretty, but it always makes me cold.
My parents cruise Princess couple times a year. It is neat, to watch the webcam on there ship. I get a kick out of it. Suddenly, they don't seem so far away. Lil' Lori
