You might have problems going off on your own in Russia. When we were on that cruise only one person on the entire ship had gotten a visa from the government. No visa, no off the ship traveling alone. The Russian immigration guys/gals are there and do a full check, no monkeying around. You can't even stay in town after your side trip. If you have two half day trips you have to be brought back to the ship and start out again!
