had our first cruise last year on oceana, thought it was great. we would give it 10/10. have booked a cruise on the sea princess for next january 07, carribean rum. been on a review site that has given it a very bad review. has anyone been on it lately and can give us something a bit more positive. when booked our cruise, was looking forward to it, now not so sure

I've not been on Sea, but have been on Princess and loved it.

You will likely find it different than Oceania. Oceania is considered a luxury line whereas Princess is a mainstream line. You likely noticed the price difference between the two as well.

Don't let a negative review get you down as often they are tainted by people who were in a bad mood.

Kate,

I assume mirren05 (who appears to be from the UK) has not been on an Oceania Cruises ship but onboard the "Oceana", a P&O Cruises ship, which is actually the former "Ocean Princess" and a sister ship to the "Sea Princess".

Good news for mirren05. The Sea Princess was our first cruise back in 2002. It was the Alaska Inside Passage. We got hooked on cruising and hooked on Bert Stratton (http://BertStrattonFans.com). The Sea Princess is a nice small ship, cozy and lots of fun.

The first Princess cruise we took was on the Sea, we cruised on her again last November. She had gone back to P & O and they had taken out half of the casino, but other than that she was as clean as the first cruise we took on her. The staff was great, as we have found on all the Princess ships we have been on. We're booked on the Sun for October this year. We really enjoy the size of the ships. The Sun, Sea and Dawn are all the same layout. I've been on larger ships, but you don't have near as much waiting to get on and off these. Enjoy your cruise.

Our first cruise was on the Sea Princess in 2001. I liked this ship very much. We would like to sail on her again. We enjoy the "non-mega" ships. We had a room with a balcony, which was covered. Our cruise on the Golden Princess had a balcony that was uncovered and the folks above us could look right down on us. We did not like that at all. In the Carribean it was HOT in the afternoon on the balcony. I thought the service and food was very good on the Sea Princess. But my wife and I have been on 4 cruises all on Princess.

I toured Sea Princess a few months ago and thought she was in fine shape. Lunch in the dining room that day was excellent, as was the service. (I sat with regular pax - it wasn't a special lunch for visitors.)
