What goes on at the Captain's Welcome Reception? Is it kinda like a cocktail party?

Exactly. The usual drill is the Captain (although sometimes it is another senior officer) will be at the door to the lounge shaking hands and posing for photos. You enter the lounge and there will be waiters wandering the crowd with trays of various cocktails and canapes. The band will be playing dance music. After a little while the Cruise Director will take to the stage and say witty things and introduce the Captain. The Captain will then take the microphone and say witty things and introduce his department heads. You then leave and go to dinner.

Just a few more days! I see the Royal Suite is still vacant. Maybe one of us will be upgraded to it!

What dinner seating do you have? We have main seating. We can coordinate a meeting at a lounge. It is too hectic to try and meet on deck in the afternoon. It is better to set something up for the first evening.

How about before dinner at in the Schooner Bar? We are in cabin 8000. Call us when you get aboard and we can set up something.
