HI I have a friend who returns from the 12 night cruise today so as soon as I get an update I will let you know - about the ship, the propeller etc. I fly on Thursday so only four days and can't wait. Looks like we should have a nice sunny day for sailing as well so should be a good start

I've never needed a vacation as bad as I need this one!! We're ready and I look forward to hearing the update your friend has when they return. Was it the same exact loop as we are doing? I'm glad we had the extra two weeks for it to get a little bit warmer in NJ...your friend must have just missed the snow last Monday.

I read somewhere else that the last 12 day jaunt went fine. They were 2 hours early getting into San Juan...that was the only change to their itinerary. So it sounds like we should be fine. I agree - this couldn't come soon enough. 5-1/2 days and counting!

Hi a friend returned from the same cruise yesterday after arriving in Bayonne on Friday 5 March. They visited all islands as planned and had a great cruise. Felt that there were general cut backs and that the drinks prices had been raised but nothing that would stop you from having a great cruise.

She mentioned that the first two days were very cold and quite a lot of rocking of the boat so sea sickness pills are a good idea! The third day was very windy before arriving into Puerto Rico and people didnt realise how hot it was - so lots of very burnt and sore people later on that day.

There were three formal nights and most people did dress up for all three and everyone had a great time.

She didnt have great food in the DR but some of this is down to personal taste and also they didnt have the best waiter so kept getting cold food or reluctance to change menu at all eg leave a sauce of the dish - which most waiters arrange without any problem

Casino and entertainment were both good, especially the ice shows as everyone says

Little things that have changed have already been mentioned eg no chocolates on pillow, few towel animals, etc but this doesnt stop you having a great cruise.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking it is going to be cold the first couple of days and then the last couple of days....but will still be warmer than here in Vermont by about 15 to 20 degrees.

Looks like they have changed our arrival time into San Juan. It now shows we arrive at 4pm...Doesn't make sense as I thought I read that the last 12 nighter left Bayonne almost an hour late and arrived in San Juan an hour early! I guess we will find out soon enough.

Denem916 and cruisingUK - Hope your enjoyed the cruise as much as we did. We thing Explorer is a great ship and enjoy cruising on it. Hope you survived the last 3 sea days. They were rough but neither my husband or I got seasick. I did feel nausious for about 5 days after we got home though. Just started feeling better. Hope you have booked your next cruise. Ours is going to be 9/5/10 on Celebrity (our first time not on RCCL) to Bermuda!
