I have a friend who are working as engineer onboard m/s Radiance of the Seas and discussed the terms of the employment.
I was stunned when I heard that he have to go thorugh a lung x-ray and full medical check including blood test every time he embark the ship. He work about 4 months and are home similar time, and that means that he need to x-ray two times per year. It is not recommended to x-ray that often. The risk of getting cancer is obvious. Also the cost for the sailor is approx USD 500 and compensation to the sailor for this is usd 200:- He then have to pay USD
600 out of his own pocket. Is that something Caribbean Cruise line will rectify with less x-rays and compensate acutal cost ?
