experience on Enchantment of the seas

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to get additional opinions on people's recent (within last year) on Enchantement of the Seas. I know it's an older ship, so I expect some wear, but some of the posts have me a bit nervous. I've sailed twice before, both on older ships, but from different lines (Celebrity Century in 2002, and Big Red Boat way back in 1996). On both previous cruises I've been happy with both the ship and the food, but it seems like things may be slipping. I've never sailed on RCL before, but was looking forward to trying a different line.

Hi cruzsnob, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Wish I could answer your question, but have not had the privilege of sailing on her. I know there are members that have, so they should be able to answer you. I just wanted to welcome you aboard and say, don't believe everything you read. Sometimes people get mad at something small and they blow it out of proportion. All the RCL ships we've sailed on have been maintained very well and the crews have been very good. As for the food, that is very subjective. My personal favorite is Princess, but others certainly disagree with me. I don't think you'll be disappointed in your choice. Best wishes and once again, welcome aboard!

Hopefully someone will answer who has been on her recently. I went on the Enchantment four years ago right after she was refurbished. The Enchantment is a very popular ship.

Hi and welcome to cruise chat, I love this ship and it's size, the additional dining room is fantastic. I am scheduled on the Century in Feb 2010, and prefer the "smaller" ships. You can sse by my sailing past how much. Any specific questions, I would be happ to answer.

I will be on the Enchantment a week before you, and I am taking that following Friday the 25th off (actual sailing dates are September 19-24; taking entire week of September 21 off of work), so I will try to post a review that day if not the night of September 24. I've cruised once before, also with Royal Caribbean on the Majesty, which is also a smaller and one of the older ships, and loved it.

I've been on her a few times and have always enjoyed my cruise. The last time I was on her was in Oct of 2007 and she looked like a new ship. Let us know what you think of Royal Caribbean after your cruise.

Thanks, Everyone. I do take what I read with a grain of salt (peoples opinions always vary), and I do my own research, but also appreciate the value of direct (and recent) experience. I'm happy with my decision of ship, just always looking to get as much information as possible so that I have reasonable expectations. For me, that's really a key difference between a poor experience and a fantastic one. Thanks again!
