Laptop Safety on Royal Caribbean

Hi JDFam, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Congratulations on your upcoming cruise I don't even want to bring mine on vacation, but my hubby insists. We've left it out on the dresser and have put it in a drawer. We've never had any problems. Ours is an inexpensive Dell, so it wouldn't be a huge loss. Just has some of our pictures on it, but I usually have them burn me a CD, so nothing critical would be lost. If you have any type of information you cannot afford to lose, either make sure you have it backed up to an external drive, CD, or jump drive or don't take it. Although none of us have never had any problems, there's always a first time. When we put it up, we normally just put it in the closet or the dresser drawer. Best wishes for a fantastic cruise!

I have a MacBook and never put it away...just had it plugged in all the time.

I think it is wiser to put them out of sight...I never heard of a room steward jeopardizing their job, but doors are left open for a short period of time...and you never know who is walking by.

Don't they have cameras in the hallways on some of the ships? So if someone did walk into your cabin they would be videotaped? With all the sophisicated equipment they now have, I just assumed they would have cameras on the ship...I would think their insurance company would require it...you know, for those "slip and fall" people?
