My wife and I are taking our first cruise for our 15th anniversary on the Grandeur of the Seas on April 30th. WE have just a few question s that hopefully someone can answer. We are starting to pack and are not sure what to pack for lunch. Can we wear swinsuits or do we have to change in clothes, if so what ? On the casual nights what can we wear ? Also we are booked for the 6 PM dinner seating. On days that we arrive back from ports, is their a delay getting back on the boat ? Does dinner still start at 6 PM ? Do we have to get back from port early to clean and dress ? Thanks in advance for your responses !!
Just to answer a few of your questions...If you have dinner at 6pm, then you'll want to make sure that you are back in enough time to get down to dinner on time. (May include showers, etc) I have never encountered "delays" or lines in getting back on the ship on any rccl ships, but on casual nights you will want to wear dress pants, golf shirts, capri pants, anything but tank tops, shorts, bathing suits etc. As far as lunch, you may venture out to the ports in the morning and then hit the buffet back on the ship for lunch, or grab something out at the islands each day.
Either way, you'll absolutely love cruising!
Enjoy!
Your dress for lunch will depend on where you choose to dine. The main restaurant will require long pants and shoes, the vuffet sandles, shorts (a bathing suit is just fine as long as it is not wet) and a shirt. If you just want a hamburger by the pool, you can wander over in just your bathing suit.
Early dining has the disadvantage of having to be ready to dine at 6 pm. The advantage is that you are not eating a large meal before turning in and you have the entire evening to wnjoy the ship's entertainment, casino, lounges and midnight buffet/snacks if you so choose. Late seating is much more convenient for taking your time to get ready to dine and you want to enjoy a cocktail hour before dining.

Tom - Are you sure about the long pants at lunch in the main dining room? I could have sworn that on the Grandeur last July Bermuda shorts were fine in the dining room for breakfast and lunch. Thanks, Adam
While you see a lot of folks wearing shorts in the dining room, the requested dress is long pants. It all depends on the passenger load and the weather, though.
