Well I guess I mean is it cheaper to book over a year in advance? I know they say as the ship fills up the prices go up. I was comparing the prices of the freedom this September to being close to the same prices next September. Since September of next year cannot be booked yet and can be about the end of April I was told, I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised with the prices. Also, for some friends of mine who do not have alot of money I was hoping they might be able to get a good price when it opens up for booking. Is there anyone that can tell me some about this subject and how much can be saved, if any? Thanks!
Sometimes, yes. Like you said, when the ship fills up the prices go up. If the price goes down, which sometimes it does, a good travel agent or a call to the cruise line can often get your price adjusted. If you've not made final payment, they'll reduce your fare. If you have, they will give you an on board credit. We normally book a year in advance, that way I can make payments and try to budget final pay-off. Hope this helps.
penny3333 Rccl told me it is cheaper to book early. This April when I book the Freedom for next Sept. It will be 17 months away. since I will basically have my pick of the rooms what deck and room no. should I go for??
Oh! forgot to say GOTTA HAVE A BALCONY!!!!!! I have never had an ocean view or inside. Had a balcony my very first cruise and fell in love with the sea, sitting on my balcony in the morning with coffee and at night, the sea smell the stars!!! Oh I do not know if I can make it til next Sept,2009!!!!!
Pick you cabin while you can ... you never know when someone will want the same one. Book it now; if the price drops you can alway get a credit.
While I was on a cruise last summer I booked a trans-atlantic cruise for this April. The price then was $1699 pp for an E-1 bacony. A few weeks ago the price dropped and I re-booked. If the price didn't drop, or went higher, I would still be a happy cruiser because I got just what I wanted. It's a win-win situation. Hope this helps.
I booked and paid for a South American cruise on Celebrity several months ago. Price recently dropped and I called them and received a refund of $800 for myself and my friend. Could have gotten more if I changed to "guarantee" status, but really want the balcony cabin on the port side so accepted the $800.00
yes I was checking the day after my last cruise, during last summer, the AOS was $1200 for a balcony on garanted option now for the same date is $1500 so yes is cheaper...
