Hello all I was wondering if anyone knew about this cabin location I will be sailing on the Freedom in cabin 9606 is this a good spot and is it a decent size cabin once again I will be a first time cruiser and am just curious my other family members are in 9618.
I can only tell you that I have sailed in that location on deck 10 on two ships...navigator AND explorer. It was a great location, not too far from the elevator/stairs, but far enough! 9618 is a hump cabin, that is great! Boy, they must have booked early to get that one! Both cabins are in a good location from what I've chosen in the past. For me, I like being closer to the middle of the ship where the stairs are . Just nice being in the middle of everything...same amount of walking no matter which way you want to go!!
So are you saying that basically all ships are the same as far as rooms and location. There will be 3 maybe even 4 of us in this room now we know it will be tight but will it be uncomfortable, the 4th person is an add on seeing as there are no more balconies left for this sailing date May 6th,2007 especaially at the price we originally got it for. Thanks again for any help .....are there any past Freedom of the seas passengers out there.
Cabin 9618 is a junior suite located on the hump, on the port (left) side of the ship. The hump is a term used for the cantilevered cabins near the elevator. They are a great location. A junior suite will have plenty of room for four people.
Hi SonnyV I don't recall us requesting a Junior suite I thought it was just a balcony cabin because that is what we asked for two balconies,9606 and 9618 are the numbers but I tell you what if it is a junior suite that will be good as well. Not to many people have sailed the Freedom I guess no one really comments about it on this forum.
I'm sorry, I thought it was on the Navigator, cabin number 9618 is a junior suite on that ship. On the Freedom, cabin 9606 is a D-1 catagory with a sofa bed. I usually book a D-1 cabin. It's the largest cabin you can book before going to a junior suite. Your cabin is about 12 cabins from the elevator on the left side of the ship. It's a great location. Cabin 9618 is also a D-1 cabin, and is 6 cabins from the elevator. When I was on the Freedom, I was in an E-1 cabin, which is a little smaller than a D-1. Here is a picture of our cabin... Hello! I'm writing from Finland and I will fly to Orlando to go on the Eastern Caribbean Cruise. I will be sailing on Mariner of the Seas. (Mariner was actually built in my hometown, Helsinki :-) I'm wondering if anybody knows about my cabin location, my cabin is DI-1670
SonnyV it seems to me and correct me if I am wrong that the D1 cabins on the Freedom are the same size if not smaller than the VOS D1 cabins now for this to be a bigger ship I thought the cabins would be a little larger. HMMM

Why would you think that? When I think "bigger ship" I just think "more cabins and people". Cabins are prefabricated and I imagine the same basic plans were used for both the Voyager and Freedom classes.
