Hello Mark O'C, and welcome to cruise-chat. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures on my Smugmug site. Jim C already answered your question about bringing wine aboard the ship. If you travel agent has wine delivered to your cabin you won't have to pay a corkage fee for that bottle. You can also buy wine for your table aboard the ship. They may or may not have your favorite wine. You'll love the Adventure! Make sure you get to meet Robert Taggart the Hotel Director. I love sailing out of San Juan. We usually stay at the Caribe Hilton the night before our cruise. You probably saw pictures of their grounds on smugmug.
Sonny,
I saw the hotel you that you stayed in, I booked through RCL for our pre cruise stay, place does not look that great. I think I will try to see if my Agent can get it changed. Thanks
Come on now, if you can afford to take the cruise, you can afford your alcohol on board. Of course I dont drink alcohol much so the soda card did me just fine.
You can't buy booze at the ship store and bring it to your room. They store it for you until the last day. You can order a bottle of wine for your dining room table.
By the way, we leave on monday on the Enchantment of the Seas, First time in a Jr Suite, do you know if anything comes "extra" (besides a very nice stateroom) with a Jr Suite? Thanks
Ceemonster is right. Two cruise credits are about the only extra thing you going to get. A bottle of wine may be in your cabin one night. I can't remember because I get a bottle of wine in every cabin. You're going to love the enchantment! How many cruises do you have with RCCL?
I had a good laugh reading some of these posts! hee hee
So as a new cruiser, I am still trying to figure this out. Can we buy drinks on board to have in our room? Perhaps from room service? Can we carry drinks from a lounge back to our room for a nightcap? How does that work? And I am talking the hard stuff...not wine.

Yes you can buy a cocktail in one of the lounges and take it back to your stateroom.
The lines want you to buy all of the hard alcohol you drink onboard at one of their bars. Wine is a different story.
