Dave Knott, they will have hand sanitizers in various locations around the ship. Just be sure to was your hands and use the sanitizers. Be assured if anyone reports an illness, they sanitize the daylights out of the ship before you will board or during the course of your cruise. They will also cease the self-serve on the buffets and will serve you. I know you don't want to spend your cruise feeling sick, so just take precautions that you would in any public area. As many have said on this board, a cruise ship is mandated to report any norovirus where restaurants and hotels are not. The CDC should actually add hospitals and doctor's offices to their lists. Best wishes for a safe and healthy cruise!
We just came off the Serenade and were actually surprised to see no sign of hand sanitizers anywhere. That was until the second last day when, as we were getting back on the ship in Barbados they were everywhere. No entry to the dining rooms or Windjammer without using one first. The cabin stewards started wearing masks and all of the handrails were constantly being cleaned.
I am not sure why the hand sanitizers do not stay out all of the time. It seems that prevention would be cheaper than treatment.
That said I agree with Sonny, if you are looking to get sick you will. All it takes to remain healthy is a little common sense.
