I have been on 4 cruises all on Royal Caribbean. My 5th cruise will be on Monarch of the Seas in June 2010. I've been on Sovereign of the Seas a couple times and know that the pools were salt water. Are they on the Monarch as well? Anybody know?

Thanks!

Hi PalmBreeze, welcome to Cruise-Chat! As far as I know, Princess is the only line with fresh water pools. I'm pretty sure the Monarch pools are salt water.

You're cruise is just around the corner. Best wishes and Bon Voyage http://bestsmileys.com/waving/7.gif http://bestsmileys.com/happy/7.gif http://bestsmileys.com/waving/7.gif

Yes, the pools are salt water on the Monarch. All the Freedom Class ships have fresh water pools.

The Oasis class ships do too.

Whilst talking about the Monarch - we are on deck 6 but it looks like it is only a half deck? Is there a short flight of stairs at the end down to deck 5? Looks a bit odd on plan! Also, can't see the 24 cafe (cafe promenade?) on this ship. Is there one?

Deck six is a half deck. Stairs and elevators are midship. The Windjammer Cafe is on deck 11 where you should find 24 hour coffee.
