What kind of luck do you have changing cabin assignments?

We just got our cabin numbers- 2 rooms- adults in one teens in the other. Well they put us on opposite hallways. Why didn't they put us together? Normally this would not bother me much b/c they are 17 but on our last cruise we had an episode where they evacuated the hotel in the middle of the night and the kids didn't hear the alarm...very scary for parents.
Can we call and switch rooms? Should we do it now?

shelby-Contact your TA on this problem-over the years I've done several cabin changes without problem. The closer you come to the cruise date-the more likely you may be assessed an additional fee! Best of Luck to you!

Is this for a cruise in December? There should be two cabins closer together for you, at least in the same hallway.

Did you book these rooms on a guarantee basis? I was not clear about why you said you just got your cabin numbers, and "they" put you somewhere.

Connecting cabins are limited on any ship, and sell out quickly during vacation times and other family cruise times. But getting two closer together is something you should ask your travel agent to try and do.

Billy, if you're switching rooms within the same category, there should be no change in price. It's only if you're switching from one category to another, or cancelling completely and rebooking the same category, would there be a price difference.

It is this December.We booked over the phone with a RC representitve, not a TA. I think my husband just made the reservation and they emailed us the cabin numbers later.

Another reason to use your own TA. My TA gives me a list of available cabins to choose from. However, if I book a guaranteed catagory, I don't get to choose my cabin number.
