Hi all; does anyone have information regarding view from staterooms at rear of ship (Explorer of the Seas)? i have been looking and it looks like there are obstructions from the railing. we were switched to stateroom 1692. thanks in advance!

There is a good chunk of ship behind the balconies. Look at this older thread which has lots of photo links. It depends on the deck you are on. The highest deck has no obstructions per se, but still a lot of structural steel below them.

I think this will give you some perspective...

This was on deck 7 on the Mariner.

Cruised on Explorer 2008, we were on the back of the ship, second balcony from the left, on the sixth floor. There was about 10 feet of deck beyond our balcony railing, so, as least from the sixth floor, is only straight ahead. You can't look down straight into the water, and there are obstructions, but, we were able to see pretty well. The best part was that the balcony was HUGE!! We had two chaise loungers, two chairs/arms, and a table large enough to eat breakfast at!

Thanks for your responses, I feel better after seeing the photos and hearing what you thought. it might not be great but we will be satisfied, i'm sure.
Go Eagles!
