What is an honor bar? What does use of ship's phones mean.

Look at the bottom of this webpage to see what the Concierge Club amenities are.

An honor bar is usually a small refrigerator that is stocked with airline bottles of assorted liquor, some beers, and sodas. You use what you want and then pay for it after the fact. They inventory it daily and bill you for items that were used.

I'm not sure what you mean by "use of ship's phones". Do you mean making calls from the ship to shore?

Thanks for answering. I should have given more details. We have a suite for the first time and have concierge club priviledges. I've read the list the ship says comes with this service. However neither the honor bar nor the "use of a portable ship phone" was explained. I was wondering if the phone was the portable ones I saw families using on our last cruise.

Where have you heard about a portable phone? I don't see that on the RCCL website. We have some members with lots of RCCL amenity experience who can probably explain things better. I've never gone with a suite with RCCL (until next year that is).

We just returned from Mariner - Western Caribbean July 2-9 and we used the concierge service provided with the suite. Your given a folder in your room upon arrival with a separte key card for entry to the concierge room. The room is located on deck nine and Ricardo is available certain hours during the day to help with shore excursions and tickets to the ice show, etc. We didn't need to stand in line the day before the show to get tickets, they were delivered to our room. Between 5 - 8p they offer food and beverages, no charge for bar items. This was a nice relaxing time to spend without kids (not allowed in the evening) before we went to dinner. I was never aware of a portable ship phone.

A question regarding concierge club on the Freedom: With the availability of the Diamond club, if you are a Diamond but not in a Grand or above, can you utilize either clubs or just the Diamond club?

If you are a diamond or diamond plus member, you will be able to enjoy concierge sevice on the Freedom
