I don't know if you ever seen that skit on SNL. The supervisor went on vacation and gave those instructions to the workers. The system was low on water and the debate started about how much water to add. The end result was a mushroom cloud.

Of course, that is physically not possible with a U.S. reactor. Wrong core geometry and fuel enrichment to cause a prompt critical reaction.

I never watched China Syndrome because of the stupid premise.

Speaking of the Poseidon - Captain Bill on the Freedom mentioned it in his q&a session. A passenger actually asked if this could happen on the Freedom Of The Seas! He laughed (and probably thought "what a moron") and then said it is physically impossible for a cruise ship to do that.
