Asked my agent to get two cabins on the Naviagor. One with a promenade inside view and the other with a bump out balcony. Looked at the rooms the agent has held and the inside is across from the elevator and the balcony is next door to the elevator. I don't like this arrangement in hotels, will I be unhappy on the ship with the noise?

We always ask for a cabin near elevators as Paulette is slightly claustrophobic (This word should describe an irrational fear of Santa)and doesn't like long walks down narrow hallways. Never had an issue with noise on 11 RCL cruises.

You won't have a noise problem near the elevators. A bumpout balcony is great. They are all by the elevators.

Thanks Sonny and Bill for the response. I feel confident now to accept the cabins.

I'm brand new to cruising. What is a bump out balcony? We are very close to the elevator (#1552) on the Sovereign of the Seas. Will we have this type of balcony?

i disagree with the elevator assessment. i try to steer clear of this area. traffic is 24 hours a day and its not exactly whisper quiet.

We were in suite 1600 on Navigator of the Seas and I do not ever recall hearing the elevators. There may be more traffic, but I never heard it!
