spa prices

was wondering if anyone had info regarding spa prices on the explorer of the seas,my treat for myself is getting a massage at least onece during the trip,i get them at home and wanted to have one at least once during my vacation.thanx

I don't know about explorer but we went on Sovereign and Hubby wanted a massage and was disappointed. He said it was very expensive and he was subjected to pressured sales the entire time which took the relaxation out of it. his stress filled massage ran us over $200.

I haven't been to the spa on an RCL cruise but on Princess I had heard there were big selling pressures. When I went I politely made it quite clear that I knew they relied on commission but that I was here for a massage ONLY and if they respected that and didn't pressure me, then I'd thank them with a nice tip. Needless to say they didn't pressure me at all and it worked out to be win-win for both of us.

I have several prices listed, from my Freedom of the Seas spa menu from last summer. To find it, log in, click the "Find" tab at the top of the post, type in "RCCL menu of spa services". It is there, with some prices listed. That should help. At the end, when they ask you about buying products, I try to not let them bother me. I just tell them, I recently cruised and bought some products and I don't need anything now. I lie! Lil' Lori

my wife and i did a couples massage on the enchantment this past march. the massage was nice and they didn't pressure you to buy anything till we were done. it was pricey @250.00. won't waste the time again. my wife wanted to do the wrap treatment and loved it. they do run specials when the ship is at port of calls.

I have found the same to be true. Very expensive and not much better than what you can get at home. I have never bought the items they wanted me to buy. I actually looked the items up online and you can buy the items at www.timetospa.com So when you come home and save your money again you can buy them. With the price and the tip it is almost as expensive as an excursion! It is a nice way to relax just be sure to add this into your spending money allowance. I would budget at least $200 and you should be okay. There are a lot of specials on port days. If you want to get a treatment on a sea day be sure to go to the spa as soon as you board the ship, they will start taking appointments on your first day and the sea days are the first to fill up since no one wants to miss the ports.

The spa prices are pricey. A massage can run anywhere to a basic ($95.00) to a hot stone massage ($175.00) I always tell the personnel up front that I am not interested in prurchasing any products ans I am happy with what I use at home and they will honor that request. I will probably do 1 massage while on board, I figure it into the final price. They also run port day specials, they offer services at a discount on port days.

I agree with Kaws....be very upfront that you understand their policy, and reinforce that their tip is contingent on a NO SALES pressure massage, and I have been very happy ever since. Also take advantage of port days spa price specials....
