Belize Mayan Ruins

We are supposed to take a tour thru Dave&Ivan to the Mayan Ruins, my husband occ has problems walking. I am concerned about the lay of the land, can anyone fill me in and also, have any of you cruisers used Dave&Ivan? If so, were you pleased or not? Thanks for all your help!

If a person has trouble walking, the Mayan ruins tours should NOT be considered. The ruins require walking to see them. They are not someplace a wheel chair or cart can be used and can be physically taxing to see.

The tours you book through the ship will state this. If he truly has issues with walking (if he can't walk more than a quarter mile) then I would reconsider taking this tour. If he can walk with the add of a walker or can or something and thinks he can handle it then that may be a different story.
I have not used the tour company you mention, so I can not give you any advice there.

The ruins (no matter which one you go to) can be a taxing walk....and remember..IT WILL BE HOT...lots of uneven paths and not suited for non-walkers....I did see a wheelchair at Cahal Pech, and they were have lots of trouble...plus it's not much fun if you can't walk around inside and on top of some of the ruins where it's allowed...Have a great time now matter what you decide to do....Happy sailing..

We have done the ruins at Altun Ha in Belize and they are most definitely not for persons who have walking and climbing difficulties. If that isn's tough enough remember-It is going to be HOT and HUMID! Staying in the shade is not a viable option! Pick another choice!
