Hello everyone, I'm new here! My partner and I will be going on our first cruise in Mayhttp://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif
Just a quick question to get my feet wet here... What do you do with your personal belongings when you go swimming at the beach, or go on an excursion(in the water)? Thanks for any info. |
Hi Teal, and Welcome to Cruise-Chat!
Congratulations on your first cruise. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif I've never been to CoCo Cay yet. So I don't know the details about it. I'm sure there are plenty of people here that have though and will be glad to help. Welcome aboard, Dwayne |
There are lockers for rent on Coco Cay by the snorkel shack. But I don't think they were yours for the day where you could come and go to them to get stuff or put other stuff in them. It was more of a "one time use" deal unless you paid again.
Since Coco Cay is a private island, the only people there are RCI staff and the other passengers. In other words the probability of something being stolen is the same as aboard the ship. |
I always leave my things on my lounge chair at CoCo Cay. I cover everything with my towel...never had a problem.

You know, seeing Sonny's picture got me all exited, I want to go to CoCo Cay. Our cruise in Feb 2010 on Celebrity Mercury makes a stop in Nassau, Bahamas is that with-in distance of CoCo Cay ? Would it be one of the offered excursions? How far away is it? I do know that RCCL and Celebrity are owned by the same Company but do I have to take RCCL to get there? Sonny must know! I did call RCCL/Celebrity but they couldn't answer. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

Coco Cay is a private island owned by RCCL,

Bill,
I do realize that, but I also know that Celebrity goes there as well because they are the same company. I see excursions there on the Celebrity site, so that really was not my question. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo.../icon_wink.gif |

Unless your ship is specifically stopping at Coco Cay you can't go there. It isn't as though Coco Cay is open all the time just waiting for people to show up. Coco Cay is open only when a ship is scheduled to be there and only those passengers are allowed ashore. Beyond the boilerplate, Coco Cay is not very close to Nassau. It is around 50 miles away. |
Hi Dave,
Thanks, that is what I was looking for. I think I have to look at RCCL Freedom of the Seas to get there. It just looks like a wonderful stop. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help. |
