Safes on Grandeur of Seas

Hi there,

We are going on Grandeur of the Seas in 7 weeks and were wondering about what kind of safes they have in the rooms. Do you use a card or is it a keypad? If it's a card, any suggestions as to what kind of card we should be using?

I just looked at a review I did of the Grandeur in 1997 (whoa, am I getting old or what?). The safe was the credit card style. I do not know if these have been changed to a keypad style over the years.

Oh, any credit card will work. You can't use your Sea Pass though. I usually use a gas credit card for those type safes.

I belive (correct me if im wrong),
All Royal Caribbean ships have safes in all rooms. They lock with a seapass or credit card or anything with a magnetic strip.
I personally do not use a seapass card because if you lose it or damage it, a RCCL supervisor has to come up to unlock it for you.

The new RCI ships use keypads. From personal experience, this is what is on both of the Freedom class ships.

Thanks SOOOOOO much for all your input, guess I will see what kind of card I can find with a magnetic strip.

Perhaps I will use a points card from my drugstore. It has a magnetic strip and if I lose it, no big loss, I haven't many points on it.
