On 7 night are formal nights always on at sea days?

First, thanks to everyone for all the great info so far. Had 9 inches of snow this week and can't wait for our 2/13 departure! (7 night Western - Mariner.) Trying to plan outfits and it would help to know when we need to plan to have the suit ironed.

on our cruise in December on the Voyager our formal nights were:
Day One...at sea...casual attire
Day Two...at sea....Formal Attire
Day Three..Labadee...Smart Casual Attire
Day Four...Jamaica...Caribbean/Casual Attire
Day Five... Grand Caymans.....Formal Attire
Day Six...Mexico.....Casual or 50's & 60' Attire
Day Seven...at sea...Smart/Casual

The schedule that cj22carcar left looks good because with a formal day on Grand Cayman, you won't have any problems. I know that when we were there on Princess, we left port at about 3:00.

The problem (not a problem for us) with 5 port, 7 day cruises (we are taking one in April), is that there is only 1 day at sea, so there will be a formal night on a port day. :0)

Since your second sea day is the last day of the cruise, your second formal night will most definitely be on a port day. (They are never scheduled the last day because passengers have to pack and have their luggage outside their door that evening). Looking at your itinerary it will most likely be similar to the Voyager on the day you are in Grand Cayman (Thurs) as you will be in Cozumel until 7 PM on Fri.

Nancy, since you mentioned you based your response by looking at the 2/13 Mariner itinerary can you tell me which night is likely to be the first formal night? My guess is the Monday at sea day? And thanks again for everyone's help!!!

Most definitely your first formal night will be the day at sea (Mon).
