Has anyone been on RECENTLY (or going to go)on Mariner of the seas? Most posts I have found are pretty old...>6 mos...wondering about geting sodas vs soda card...will mostly drink mixed drinks from bar, but might want an occasional soda - Thanks for suggestions...

Hi there, we were on the Mariner on August 14,05. Had a wonderful time. We did not purchase the soda card. I did however have a couple of sodas everyday. My neighbor did buy the soda card and found it well worth the money.

My husband ans I are going on the Mariner next week. I do not drink soda, however my husband drinks alot of it. Do you remember how much a soda was? I believe I read the unlimated soda card was $6 per day to be purchased for the entire length of the cruise. Does that sound right?

Was on Explorer till 4th. It is $6 a day plus gratuity for adults and $4 for kids. If he drinks a particular brand and they do not have it, you can bring it on board. The soda card is for the fountain stuff only. It does not apply to the canned stuff which you have to buy off the wine steward at your dinner table. Some of the passengers did not want the fountain stuff, but my husband and kids did not care enough to want the canned stuff.

Thanks for all your input!My husband is the soda drinker - Kim, do you remember how much individual sodas were? this might help me make decision on whether or not to "invest" in soda card for him...I'm more of a water drinker - speaking of - anyone have any info regarding the drinking water available on board - is tap any good? prices of bottle water? I try to drink at least 80 oz day - Thanks!

As far as the soda is concerned I think they were about $3.50 a drink I could be wrong but it was around there. Bottled water was about the same as the coke, except the bottled water was a big bottle. My girlfriend paid $30 dollars for one soda card and that included a souvenir mug.
