Well, here's another good reason to book far in advance! Good for our favorite cruise line.
Saved me $70 this trip-I understand the charges, heck I've even started riding my Harley due to gas prices, but I thought that after-charging the surcharge wasn't very nice.
Hurray!
For those that don't know if they will be getting the refund, just check your reservation on the RCI website. My sister already has the $70 showing up as an on board credit for her April cruise...

Mine showed up as a reduction in the amount that I still owed for the cruise reservation. It had previously been included in the billing statement, but now has been removed
I must be missing something. I can't find anything to do with the price I paid anywhere in my reservation on the RCI site. Did you guys book direct with RCI?
Dave, you haven't made you final payment yet have you? The surcharge will probably be posted on you final payment, but you'll get an onboard credit for the same amount. If you call customer service with your reservation number they'll let you know how they're handling it.
Dave-I called the reservation line to book mine last July. Whenever I call to amke a payment, I ask them for a receipt-they send to my e-mail account a Adobe PDF document, that lists every charge to my account for the cruise,i.e. cost, taxes, pre-paid gratuities, fuel surcharge, etc.
When I made my most recent payment, the surcharge had been removed from the document; it had been listed before.
Did what I just said make any sense?
