Just booked RCCL Vision of the Seas for Mexican Riviera, March 16, 2008. I'm not giddy....yet. Upgraded my free outside cabin to Junior Suite. Will receive a minimum $1900 credit against the cost of the cabin.

No airfare (LA is an easy 7 hour drive for us). I can deal with this.

Sorry, I'm a dinosaur; I like the do it yourself tickers. That way, as time goes by, I can veer from the plan and be creative, rather than having the ticker that looks the same, day in and day out (okay, I'm ready-let me have the looks and words of consternation).

GC - you talked me into the RCL Visa! I like the idea of the free cruise. I don't mind buying things now. All I keep thinking is "cruise points".

The ticker is fun but I like to right the days left on my home calendar. This vacation was planned over 100 days in advance and I'm having a hard time waiting for August to come. I can't imagine waiting until March! We're thinking about a Mexican Riveria cruise in Nov. 08. I'd be curious to hear what you think of yours.

It is fun seeing the points add up, and I'll say it again; a free cruise to the Caribbean or Mexico (or in our case, a much less expensive cruise since we take a credit and upgrade) sounds more exotic than free airfare to Newark, Little Rock, Kansas City, Des Moines, or Minneapolis (no offense to any cruise chat folks who may live in or near these fine cities).

The only word of caution is you must pay off the balance at the end of each month, otherwise, it's not really free.

(We booked our last cruise 388 days in advance....)

Oh yeah, still 317 days and counting.

Understood - we charge everything and right it into the check book. Write the balance back in when it's time to pay and everything works out! We've made a fair amount of money on cash back bonus over the last couple of years. I'm excited to get the free cruise now. I'm looking for all sorts of things to charge now! Too bad my son's college charges a 3% fee if I charge his tuition. Those points could really add up!

Way to go GC. I almost have my wife talked into another cruise. It will be either the Mexican Riviera in the Spring or Alaska in the Summer, both on CCL. I'm shooting for the Riviera as well....then I still get a shot at a the Cruise Chat Cruise!!
