Royal Caribbean has announced upgraded amenities for guests cruising in a suite. Most items are only available to those in Grand Suite or above accommodations. Those in Junior Suites have lesser perks (much "lesser").
Many of these amenities were tested over the past year on selected ships, and will now be rolled out fleet wide in March.
As some of these amenities are also available to Diamond and D+ C&A Members, does this mean that you will now get a gold key card when you next sail, even if you're not in a GS+?
The gold card is for suite guests only. As with other C&A members, our member level is printed on the standard white card. I assume if a diamond member sails in a suite, they'll have a gold card that also says Diamond Member on it. Diamond and Diamond Plus members do get key cards for the concierge lounge.
Personally I don't think the color of the card or the level of membership printed on it makes a big difference to the staff in most cases. It is mostly eye candy for the suite guest.
We were in a Grand Suite on Feb. 1 on the Independence and had the gold card with SUITE in bold letters on the top. No one seemed impressed about it except my grandkids . I didn't get any different treatment than any other color card. Of course, I wasn't expecting any different treatment either!
You're absolutely right! I've been in inside rooms, balcony rooms, JS and GS and have had the same treatment throughout the ship - no matter what. All excellent I must say! I'd expect nothing less from RCI!
Same goes for me, Geema. However, the next time one of us are in a Grand Suite or above, we may be posting a different song. I wish we had more time to talk while we were on the Independence.
Sonny V - If I was in a GS again, I'd be expecting certain perks -- according to their new list!
I did enjoy our conversation while waiting for the computers to work! The short time we talked helped me find this board! For that I'm grateful!!!
PS - We're looking at dates, ships, itineraries right now for 2010 so we could be on the same ship again!
