I decided for once in my life I would try the grand suite on the Rhapsody of the Seas in July to Alaska. Outside of a larger room (and the tip) is there anything that I can expect to accompany the added $$$$ that I spent. Is the conceirge service worth it or for that matter do we even receive it on this cruise. I for one am looking forward to a shower that I can drop the soap and actually bend over to pick it up!
Thanks all! |
h2oski, SonnyV is our Royal Caribbean expert. I've never had the pleasure of a suite, of any sort. I have been fortunate enough to experience the balcony rooms, and I am spoiled. I'm afraid a suite would totally spoil me. I have peeked inside, and they sure are roomy. Hopefully, Sonny will see your post and can answer your questions. I sure think it will be a great experience, especially for Alaska. Have a wonderful cruise and please let us know how it was when you return!

With a Grand Suite you get concierge service and free drinks in the concierge lounge from 5pm to 8:30pm on ship the offer it. However, Rhapsody is an older "Vision" class ship and doesn't offer what I just mentioned. You'll love a Grand Suite, but in my opinion it's not worth the extra dollar spent…I would probably go for a Junior Suite; it has a tub and the room is half again the size of a regular balcony cabin. I was in a Grand Suite on a 14 night cruise last month and we loved it. However, we would be just as happy in a Junior Suite, especially on a 7 night cruise. Too bad your cruise isn't on a "Radiance" class ship. HERE is a link to a view of a Grand Suite on the Rhapsody.
