From Tampa... anyone going on this trip? We're newbies to cruising & would love specific insider info re: Grandeur and Cozamel.

Hi Deora! Check out thread below where I requested feedback on Gradeur. We are going on same trip on 3/20. I had also asked for info on Cozumel & from what I've read more excursions are available each week-- haven't decided yet what we will do but we tend to enjoy doing one organized excursion & one on our own (like paying a local taxi driver to give us our own site seeing tour) when we have 2 ports of call (like Coz. & Costa Maya). I will try to give you updated info after we return. I'm sure you will have a great time.

My husband and I are experienced cruisers but we took our first Royal C cruise in December. It was a 4 day over the Christmas weekend. We had a wonderful time. The service was great, the ship was beautiful (especially so with the Christmas decorations), the food was delicious. We always ate in the dining room and did have some breakfasts in the cabin.
The casino was fun even though we lost $$ and the entertainment was wonderful.

We did the speedboat excursion and thought it was the best ship excursion that we had ever taken. We were the only ones on the excursion which meant that we had one-on-one attention.

We loved the Tampa port although we thought the lines were rather long for embarkation. I would recommend getting there as early as possible.

It was a great experience and we have cruised on other lines such as Carnival, Princess, Holland America and NCL. I would not hesitate to cruise on the Grandeur again.

Just returned on a 5 night cruise to Cozumel and Grand Cayman on Jan.19.
The ship was very nice.
The food was ok.
Our room was very clean.
The shows were very good to Ok.
Cozumel snorkeling was poor because of recent hurricane wiping out a lot of coral.
Grand Cayman snorkeling was great. Many different types of fish.
The ship is beautiful.
