I hope you stick around Hippo. It's a fun group of people on here. I have learned a lot from the many on here that have many more cruises under their belts.

Seems Neil (TrvlPro) gave you a pretty exact answer for someone that was looking for just a "rough" idea. The rest was just some fun banter.

My apologies Hippo, in re-reading, it looks as if you were appreciative of the information received, you just didn't care for the dialog afterwards. I guess that is a personal choice. Glad you booked your cruise. Enjoy! [/quote]

Hippo1758, hope you will be around for awhile as we all gain from the experience of the Master Cruisers and others that have been where others dream to go. Chug, Chug, Chug, sorry goin' cruisin' that was definitely two many chugs. I'm out of the corner and headed to dinner. While it won't mirror the ship's menu, it will have to do until the next time....I'm sure goin' cruisin' could come up with a great whine (oooooops) wine selection for me to help compliment a favorite of mine (one my wife cooks when the weather is cool as it was over the weekend). A pork and beef roast that is started on the stove top in a cast iron skillet until seared on all sides then in the oven with potatoes, onions, and carrots added with a natural gravy and allowed to slow cook until the meat falls apart. Hum, Hum... Must go, very hungry now. Will have to select a less than rare merlot or shiraz.

Can't help you for the NOS, but assuming the drink prices are the saem from ship to ship, last week on the Mariner I paid (all prices with tip included) $4.98 for bottled beer (domestic, $6.80 for a black russian, $1.75 for a can of soda and $6.80 for a drink of the day in a special glass.

Most cruiselines do have a Special Drink of the day...but even they have gone up in price...Last 3 cruises our drink tab has been Zero....we spent the money on excursions instead...Guess it's just where do you want to spend your money....but those pena coladas are good:-)...Whatever you choose to do...have a great time....and I'm sure you will start a long string of cruises to come...Like most of us...
