kids club age groups - are these strictly adhered to?

Hi all. I am sailing on the Independence of the Seas in 3 weeks time. There are 4 families travelling together, all with children. All of the other kids in our group will be in the 12+ kids club, but my son is only 11 and will therefore have to be in a different kids club. Are they strict about ages? My son would much prefer to be with the other kids in our party rather than be in a group on his own. Anyone had the same problem? thanks ...

Generally, yes, they do enforce the age rules. They know the ages of every kid aboard the ship. It needs to be viewed from a larger perspective - if you start making exceptions then the flood gates are opened and you can lose control of the program.

Hi nikki b, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Sorry your son is just a little too young, but maybe he'll meet some fun kids that he'll enjoy hanging out with. He can always meet up with the other children later, and y'all will be on excursions together, so it'll probably be just fine. Actually, he might enjoy being away from the others for a few hours a day
