We completed our first cruise back in the middle of October 2007. To get our C&A started, we filled out application during the cruise and turned it in. We are still waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Husband called RC and they said we should get it soon and that was a month ago! Is a wait of 2 1/2 months usual?
Thank you

Wesnlin, you should have a C&A membership number even though you haven't received card. If I were you I'd call and ssk what your number is because you're thinking of booking a cruise. Maybe that will expedite getting your card to you.
Thank you, yeah we will have to call them again. Actually we called and they gave us the number to book our next cruise, we just never got the cards yet. Maybe some day they will get around to it.

In fact I don't know where our cards are. The only ones we have are the original member level cards issued back in the 90's.
I keep a computer file of all my membership numbers. I think RCI automatically cross-checks for a C&A membership when you make a booking, but am not sure.
For all you first timers going on RCCL or Celeb, don't forget to register onboard as a past passenger. Unlike other lines, they do not recognize you as a past passenger unless you sign up for benefits. If you've sailed before and didn't sign up it's not too late. Have your agent call and get you signed up at the time of your 2nd booking. They'll issue you a number at that time and you'll get the booklet for casino credits, discounts on photos and other things and begin accruing points toward better benefits as you get more sailings under your belt. It only takes 5 sailings to become platinum with these two lines.
Then when you have 5 sailings and become platinum with either line you can have your benefits apply to the other line. So if you're platinum with RCCL and want to try out Celeb, you'll get the same benefits as if you'd sailed 5 times with Celeb.
This is our second cruise, so hubby and I have a number. I recently registered online with C&A's site. Should I do the same for my husband or does it provide for both of us? Thanks for all the help.
ajmaniac, if you register both you and hubby you'll get two booklets and accrue points on both accounts. I'd recommend it. When they give out the onboard gifts at the end of your cruise (usually either a tote bag or picture frame) you'll sometimes get two gifts. I got four on my last cruise. Don't know why, never happened before.
Weslin, I never could get the darn online C&A to work so I had to call and they got all three of us signed up and provided my C&A numbers to me on the spot. The lady said we should get some sort of welcome package but I don't have that yet either. Maybe by summer time I will!! I finally did get to set up our profiles online though.
Remember too, although it only takes 5 credits/cruises to go platinum, if you go in a J.S or higher room, you get 2 credits per cruise. That way, you go platinum after only 3 cruises!!
