I just booked a cruise for Sept 09 on MOS. Picked a cabin on deck 6, overlooking the Promenade. How are these cabins? Would an oceanview cabin be better?

Hello heidi33, welcome to Cruise-Chat! I just got off the Mariner yesterday. She is a great ship. I had a promenade cabin on the Navigator last spring. The Navigator is almost identical to the Mariner. We were on deck 6 also. Later on I can post a link of some photos I took of our cabin. I think I'd rather have a promenade cabin than an outside cabin. It's fun sitting at the window and watching what's happening on the Promenade deck. You'll enjoy watching the parades.
