Tipping

When you sign for your drinks RCCL has a line for an extra tip. Does anyone out there leave a little extra tip for thier drinks? Should I? RCCL already adds 15% on to the total. Would leaving an extra tip help in getting stronger drinks? I am not wanting to sound cheap but would like to know if cruisers out there add a little tip and if so how much. Thanks for the advice.

Actually, what my husband does, if he meets with a bar waiter that he "connects" with, he will give him maybe a $10.00 or so tip at the beginning of the cruise...they will look for us throughout the cruise to take care of us, then if he received "special" service from this waiter he will at the end of the cruise slip him a little extra.

Has worked everytime for us. But to answer your questions, NO we do not add anything on the slip we sign above what has already been added.

We always add a $2.00 tip when using our buy 1 get 1 free drink coupons. The waiter doen't get a tip automatically on the second drink and they seem to appreciate the thought.

We always tip a dollar extra for each order we place. At the end of the cruise, we normally give our best bartenders an extra $20.

Sometimes I do add an additonal tip but only to certain bartenders who take very could care of me. I also give them cash at the end.

I guess that I am a little different on this policy. I always let the 15% stand if the guy is just bringing my drink. However, if I am actually sitting at the bar, I will tip the bartender over and beyond the 15%. This insures strong drinks and a smiling face whenever you return to the bar. Also, tipping the bartender goes a long way towards your glass mysteriously being refilled with no extra charge.
