About what sizes should your carry on bag be?

Are you talking about carry on for an airplane? If so, the dimensions are usually listed in the fine print of each airlines website. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo.../icon_wink.gif Lil' Lori

If you can carry it, do so. Many people choose to carry on their own luggage, especially shorter cruises. I like to use my roll on, that is packed with anything I'll need the first night. But luggage always arrives well in time for late seating.

I would bring a tote bag of some sort with a swim suit so you can start laying out when you get on the ship you can also put your important documents in it like passports and keep it by your side just in case your luggage does not arrive right away

Thanks so much everybody for the help

Also, you should remember that you may not get your luggage before dinner, especially if you have the early seating. This seems to be the case more often on the bigger ships. My wife and I have learned to pack something nice in our carry-on so we don't have to miss our first night in the dining room.

Have a great time!!!

Make sure you hold onto your carry on bag. The porters (I don't remember at the airport or at the pier) took our carry on and threw it onto the truck with all the luggage and when I say throw - they throw. We stood there and waited until they found it and gave it to us. It took emptying half the truck but we did finally get it back - so be careful! Of course they weren't happy with us - but "Oh Well!"

When you get to the cruise port, if you did not use the cruise transportation, they will try to herd you in a line with your luggage. A few well placed dollars and communication with your transportation person to the cruise luggage handlers will solve this. If you want to keep your luggage, BE FIRM and polite, no thanks.
