http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif Excited, just booked the Freedom of the Seas for next April 2011. Hope there are things for the teens to keep them busy (2 of them). For all who have taken the Cruise what is your favorite thing about the cruise. Anyone else reading this going on the Easter Cruise?? it appears quite full at this point.

Hi Mel Jak.

I'm going on the Freedom tomorrow, and will post a review when I get back. I'm sure there will be stuff for the teens to do.

Mel Jak

I am going on Freedom end of this month. I do not have kids, but can get info while on cruise if you would like..See what they offer while I'm on board. I know MCPayne is also going on Freedom this month (he's going earlier than myself) I DO NOT know if he has kids.

I had question reqarding Mystery dinner so many people said it was worth it (It cost $99 for 2 adults)..This would depend on age of kids..Starts at 7:30 and it's 2 hours.
Also heard Ice shows are great..We will see.
Because I do not have kids I did not ask about programs for kids..Like I said earlier I am willing to help you as much as I can when I go..Give me a list of questions and will do my best to help.

Hi Mel Jak, welcome to Cruise-Chat! Congratulations on your upcoming cruise. I cannot imagine any teen being bored on any of RCI's cruise ships. They have the rock wall, the ice skating rink, some have the florider, the pools, clubs for teens, and the programs for children of all ages. If they are, then they're staying in the cabin http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo.../icon_wink.gif Keeps your eyes open on the travel channel. Samantha Brown did a show from the Freedom of the Seas. It's a beautiful ship! She wore herself out checking out all the places on board. Johnny Rockets is another place people rave about. There is a cover charge, but unlimited food, and from what everyone has posted about it, it sounds like a fun place. For young and old alike http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

You and your family are in for a vacation like no other you've had. Just be warned, cruising is addictive http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif Best wishes!

We are also going on the Freedom in April over Easter and I have one Teen and one younger. The teen has a lot of fun, the first night they kind of all meet and get together. The kids are allowed only in certain areas at night. The is our kids 3rd cruise on Royal

My husband and I were on the Freedom in January. I don't think they have Johnny Rockets (if they do I didn't notice). My favorite thing was Cafe Promenade. My husband could always get a fresh, hot cup of coffee, and they have the most delicious snacks... cookies, muffins, small deli sandwiches. The snacks were a little different each day, but always delicious and always free.

We don't have kids, but the ship has miniature golf, ice skating, rock climbing, the wave rider, and a teen club. They also have a pool and spa area that is kid-free :.) If they say they're bored, I wouldn't invite them on your next cruise.

Mel, I have three kids,15,14,10 that will be onboard. We've done the past two easters on the Mariner and Independence, trust me your kids will have the best time ever.Encourage the kids to go to the meet and greet for kids the first night aboard. Fred

Thanks, my kids are a bit reserved at first, but I'll encourage them to do the meet and greet the first night to meet all the youngsters. Do you know if they do a special Easter dinner on the 24th?
