We are sailing on the Grandeur on Sept. 24th from Baltimore & will be driving down & staying over on the 23rd. I would appreciate any advice on where to stay that would make it easy to get to the ship & also hopefully not be too expensive (I have to save my money for shopping)!
Thanks, Nancy

Rebel,
My advice is to stay outside of Baltimore. Stay in the Towson area, good shopping and cheaper. The terminal is simple to find. 95 South to Keith Ave. Stay on Keith for about 2 miles. Make a right into terminal. My wife and I went in July on the Grandeur. The best vacation I have ever taken, check in is a breeze, go early we were on the ship with a drink in hand by 1:30. Out of the 4 ports of call we did not like 2 of them, but we loved the ship so much it didn't matter. Besides you are really paying for the ship. Avoid Freeport unless you like cheap stuff in a dirty straw market. Rent the waverunners in Coco Cay it was awesome. Key West is great! Port Caneveral is not much. We stayed on board, the best thing is many leave and you have the ship to yourself! Enjoy! you are never crowded and the service is great. Our one complaint is that after dinner there is not much food except for sandwiches from room service. If you like snacks like pretzels, pop corn, cookies, bring your own. Have fun and tell Patsy at the Champagne Bar and Geri the waiter that Jon and Christy said hi.

Thanks so much for the great info Poker! I really appreciate it. We are driving from Toronto so we are thinking of staying in Harrisburg, PA because that will leave about an hour and a half drive for us in the morning & we'll be at the port pretty early. We go to Cozumel, Belize, Freeport & Key West. Any recommendations for shore excursions or any other hints you'd like to give us would be much appreciated. Thanks Again!
Nancy

Rebel,
Key West is a blast. We loved the tour at the Hemingway House. Save room for some beers at all of his old haunts as well. We didn't have much time in Freeport. There is a nice casino at the International Market, we never got to Port Lucaya. Have fun.

I need advice on how to get from BWI to the port. Can anyone help? I would also like advice on excursions of Grandeur in Sept. Ports are Key West, Belize, Coz, Freeport. I love to snorkel! Not much of a shopper. Do you buy excursions ahead of time? Is there ways of embarking quickly with RCCL. I got my cruise on Expedia.

Can't help you getting to the port, but having sailed on the Grandeur - you should have a great time.

RCI encourages passengers to complete the registration process online in order to expedite your embarkation (make sure you print out a hard copy so that you will have it at check-in as a back-up). You will need your sailing date, ship and confirmation # to do this.

I would suggest cave tubing in Belize, and snorkeling in Cozumel. Both can be done on your own, or if you prefer, through Grandeurs shore excursion desk (you can purchase these ahead of time online). Check out the detailed tips and suggestions for these ports at our sister site www.portreviews.com

KY Girl,

Take 95 North to Keith Ave and then simply follow the directions in your ticket book. getting to 95 North from the airport is well marked and a breeze.
have fun.

KY,
Sorry, after reading your post it occured to me that maybe you meant transportation. There are plenty of Taxi's available and it isn't that far of a drive so it shouldn't be too expensive.

Hello Rebel,
We are flying in from Nashville on the 23rd and staying at the Sheraton Inner Harbor, which was suggested by our travel agent.
We wanted to see Baltimore.
I have been researching excursions. My husband will be diving in Belize, and I think we will snorkel in Cozumel. I'm excited about seeing Key West.
