ice show and restaurant on mariner

i am going on mariner and very excited can any one help with where do i get ice show tickets on ship and where is chops restaurant on ship to make reservations and in the main dining room when and where can i check on my table before dinner the first night thanks for the help

We were just on the Freedom and the ice show was announced in the Compass (newsletter) the night before it happened. It said we could go to the promenade deck and get the tickets. One person can get tickets for their whole group.

We did not go to Chops, but I hear that you would want to reserve right away if you are going. On the Freedom, Chops was right next to the Windjammer. Go on Royal Caribbean's website and you can see the floor plans for the ship. We did our homework well and pretty much knew where everything was before boarding.

On the card they give you when boarding (Sea Pass) it will tell your table number and the floor it's on. You can go and look at it. That's one of the first things we did after getting on board. I hope you have a great time.

Don't miss the ice show...it's amazing what they can do on a moving ship....They will announce where and when to get tickets...Get there as soon as you can...the line gets very long:-)...A hint: Sit near the opposite end of the rink where the stage is set up....on the Voyager they picked a person that was sitting there and put them in a large chair and took them out on the rink and they were part of the show....we missed it by one person...would have been fun...And get your reservations in right away for Chops.....Have a Great Cruise..

I got in line about 10 minutes early to get the tickets and I also noticed that behind me there was a very long line.

Berick is right, the ice show was amazing. The skaters are all so talented. They have so many different costume changes and it's a great show. As soon as we went in we were asked by the staff if our son could participate in the show and we said sure! We were escorted and sat down in the front row. When it came time for the pirates, our son was put in a pirate ship and paraded around on the ice. He is 4 and he absolutely loved it and it was great fun.

Chops is located at the entry of the buffet area. You should make your resevations the first day as soon as you can or the "good" times will be taken. We waited until the second morning (so we could see what days were formal nights) and we ended up having to be on a waiting list to get in!

You can also check with the main dinning room the first day. You can find your table number on your documents and then discuss it with the maitre'd if there when you go to the dinning room.

Ice show tickets are distributed in front of Studio B (which is the ice rink.) they set up a table and hand them out right there (its also by the picture viewing area. Watch the Compass for time and day and be there early so you are not standing in line for a long time.

As Jim C. stated, Chops is located on Deck #11, on the port side of the ship (Portifino's in on the starboard side-same deck) As said before, go right away to whichever restaurant you want and make reservations as soon as you board. They fill fast!! If you have any questions, such as formal nights, lobster nights, ask the person taking your reservation-they'll know everything about which nights are which. And, yes, the ice show is great. You'll love Mariner!! Enjoy!

Just a note to add to Jim C's post. I was turned onto a site, www.cruisedailies.com by one of the moderators of this site. There are many copies of the "Compass" posted there and even though much of the entertainment changes, the formal nights seem to stay the same. Still, you could just ask someone and I'm sure they will tell you.

I agree with this seating choice. I was in the fron row on Adventure in Sept and leaning toward the railing as one of the lovely young ladies landed a jump right in front of me. As she skated past she leaned over the railing and kissed me on the cheek. My wife wasn't nearly as delighted with the audience participation as I was.
